The Soldier Prayer
Lord, I ask for courage. Courage
to face and Conquer my own fears... Courage to take me where Others will not go.
I
ask for strength... Strength of body to protect others... Strength of spirit to lead others. I ask for dedication... Dedication
to my job, to do it well... Dedication to my country, To keep it safe.
Give me, Lord, concern... For those who trust me And compassion for those Who need me,
and Please Lord... Through it all be at my side.
The Silent Ranks
I wear no uniforms, no blues or army greens. But I am in the military in the ranks rarely
seen. I have no rank upon my shoulders. salutes I do not give. But the military world is the place where I live.
I'm not in the chain of command, orders I do not get. But my husband is the one who does, this I cannot forget. I'm
not the ones who fires the weapon, who puts my life on the line. But my job is just as tough. I am the one that's left
behind.
My husband is a patriot, a brave prideful man and the call to serve his country, not all can understand. Behind
the lines I see the things needed to keep this country free. My husband makes the sacrifice, but so do our kids and me.
I love the man I
married. Soldiering is his life. But I stand among the silent ranks known as the Military Wife
A Soldier's Son/Daughter
Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray dear Lord, my soul you'll keep My mommy says I need to pray, For
many others on this day.
But my daddy - he's a soldier, Of this I'm sure you know, He helps protect our freedom, I was
sad to see him go.
Although I know he's safe with you, I'd rather have him here, 'Cause he's the one who always said With
prayer, there's no fear.
Dear Lord, I know you hear me, Way up in the sky, Please protect my daddy, I wish he was here
tonight.
I Love You Daddy!
A Soldier Reports to God
The Soldier stood and faced his God Which must always come to pass He hoped his shoes were shining Just
as brightly as his brass.
Step forward now, you soldier, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To
My Church have you been true?
The soldier squared his shoulders and said, No Lord, I guess I ain't Because those of us who carry
guns Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was tough. And sometimes I've been violent, Because
the world is awfully rough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep... Though I worked a lot of overtime When the
bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear, And sometimes, God forgive
me, I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place Among the people here. They never wanted me around Except to calm
their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, It needn't be so grand, I've never had that much in life, So
if you don't I'll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne Where the saints had often trod As the soldier waited quietly, For
the judgment of his God.
Step forward now you soldier You've borne your burdens well, Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets, You've
done your time in Hell.

The Lord's Prayer
Our Father
Who
art in heaven,
Hallowed
be thy name.
Thy
kingdom come.
Thy
will be done on earth,
As
it is in heaven.
Give
us this day our daily bread,
And
forgive us our trespasses,
As
we forgive those
Who
trespass against us.
And
lead us not into temptation,
But
deliver us from evil;
For
Thine is the Kingdom,
And
the Power.
And
the Glory, Forever.
Amen
