A Marriage Prayer

Broken Dreams
 

As children bring their broken toys,
With tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God,
Because He was my friend.

But then instead of leaving Him,
In peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help,
With ways that were my own.

At last I snatched them back and cried,
'How could you be so slow?'
Mary', He said,
'What could I do? You never did let go.'

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others,
even to the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for
always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career,
however humble, its a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. 
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons
strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is a perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture the strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore Shawn be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be.  And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.

Rainbows appear after mighty storms,

When things look their very worst.

Just when skies are darkest gray,

Look for the rainbow first.

The rainbow is a sign of God’s promise,

That He will guide us through all our trials.

No matter what their form,

When you feel battered by life’s storms,

And you are filled with doubt and dismay,

Just remember God’s rainbow will come,

For it’s only a prayer away.

Real Love

When someone knows your weakness

A Good marriage must be created.
In marriage the little things become the big things.

  It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say I Love You at least once a day.
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.
It is standing together facing the world.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers the whole family.
It is speaking words of appreciation
and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other room to grow.
It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.

It is not only marrying the right person
It is being the right partner.

Grief never ends,

It's a passage,
